[Random Individual] About this siteOld, old, old site and possibly dataMarch 28, 2009The Harvey Genealogy's New New HomeMay 23, 2001How to use this siteThe information in the Harvey Genealogy database is organized into information on individuals in the genealogy. The information about each individual is displayed on a single page with links to related individuals, such as parents, spouses, children, and siblings. Individuals can be located with the Search utility. To use the Search, type your search words into the first and last name fields, and then select the type of search you wish to perform, either Name Search or Substring Search. Name Search only displays exact matches of first and last names entered into the Search utility. Substring Search displays individuals with names that contain the search words in any part of the first or last names. You can click on any of the matching names to be taken to that individual's information page. Individual's information pages have a direct family tree below the vital information. The depth (number of generations displayed) and indenting can be controlled by the form at the bottom of the page. The default is a depth of 5 generations, and 8 indent spaces. For more generations, a lower number of spaces should be selected, or if the output needs to be restricted to a narrow width. The minimum and maximum values for Tree Depth and Indentation are listed in the form.
